The drive-in podcast studio: recording in a car, on a real studio floor

2026-08-01 · 4 min read

Why a car in a studio?

Motoring content is booming: car reviews, in-vehicle interviews, dealer launches, motorsport talk. Most of it is filmed in car parks, on rainy forecourts or in borrowed garages, with audio that sounds like it. The Drive-In solves the problem the way every good studio solves a problem: control the environment.

A real car sits on our turnstile-accessible studio floor, fully lit with broadcast lighting, wired with wireless lav mics and cameras rigged inside and outside the vehicle. Guests climb in, close the door, and the conversation sounds like a radio show.

Who it's for

Automotive podcasts and YouTube channels recording in-vehicle interviews. Dealerships and brands shooting launch content with a studio's polish and a location's honesty. And any creator who wants a memorable set: there is nothing else like it in the region.

It also suits load-in heavy productions generally. The same turnstile that puts a car on the floor lets production crews drive kit straight in, which is why The Drive-In doubles as our crew-access room for big shoots.

What it costs

The Drive-In is our signature room, so it sits at the top of the room rates at £95 per hour, vehicle and lighting included. Full production with editing and clips is available, and the room is included in the same bundles and memberships as every other studio.

Parking is free, obviously, and if you'd rather drive a car onto the floor than into a conversation, we're told the photos are pretty good too.

Book the set

Availability is live on the booking page, and the set is dressed and ready before you arrive. Whether it's a full production with an engineer or a self-serve session in the driver's seat, The Drive-In is the room people remember.
